Panchakarma

Panchakarma is an Ayurvedic Detoxification Treatment that cleanses the body of toxic materials. Over a while due to a sedentary lifestyle, poor dietary habits, lack of proper exercise, health problems, etc., waste materials also called ‘ama’ in Ayurveda tend to get accumulated in the body. This results in the accumulation and spread of toxins which is the root cause of many diseases. The process of Panchakarma is adopted to eradicate these toxins from our bodies. The word Panchakarma is a Sanskrit word that means ‘five actions’. This process helps not only to eliminate the harmful waste materials from our body but also to correct the imbalance in the doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha). Through this method, the tissues are purified at a deep level to restore good health.

Panchakarma includes five major procedures

  1. Vamana(Therapeutic emesis)
  2. Virechana(Therapeutic purgation)
  3. Niruha Basti(Therapeutic Cleansing Enema)
  4. Anuvasana Basti(Therapeutic Oil Enema)
  5. Nasya(Therapeutic Nasal Administration of Medicine)

These are mainly bio cleansing in nature. Apart from this several other internal and external therapies are administered in the department of Panchakarma for the treatment of various diseases mainly musculoskeletal, neurological, skin, metabolic, lifestyle, Allergic, Respiratory, and Psychiatric diseases are effectively treated by Panchakarma.
